Research programmes are carried out to tackle location specific problems
of different agro-climatic zones of the state of Andhra Pradesh. The
changing agricultural scenario at state, national and global level, national policies and the changing socio-economic structure warrant restructuring and re-orientation of research
programmes. The research programmes and activities are constantly and critically reviewed and each Research Station has been assigned
priorities to make research user oriented and demand driven. Thus, the research activities
are mainly focused on thrust areas identified.
Research, to constantly
improve and generate technologies for increasing production in agriculture,
animal husbandry, home science and allied sectors is one of the three major
mandates of the University taken over from the State Department of Agriculture
during 1964 along with some infrastructure.
Organisation Flow Chart:

stations have been divided into seven zones based on the agro-climatic
